Haaland’s Reign Over? New Speed Demon At City

Manchester City’s Fleet of Foot: Who’s the Fastest Among Their Speed Demons?

Manchester City boast some of the Premier League’s most electrifying players, known for their blistering pace and ability to outpace defenders. Among them, Jeremy Doku stands out as a dribbling dynamo. His speed, combined with his exceptional dribbling skills, makes him nearly impossible to contain. Even Kylian Mbappe has been left in awe, admitting that Doku’s acceleration from a standing start is unmatched.

While Manuel Akanji might not be as swift as Doku, his own speed is a crucial asset, especially when he’s deployed as a full-back. It allows him to keep up with rapid wingers and make significant forward runs with ease.

Erling Haaland, too, is renowned for his speed. Since his days at RB Salzburg, the Norwegian striker has set himself apart with his rapid bursts of pace. Unlike his peers like Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski, who aren’t particularly known for their speed, Haaland’s agility is a key part of his striking prowess.

However, in terms of sheer velocity, Kyle Walker seems to be the standout. Ruben Dias, when asked about the fastest City player in an interview with Fubo, named Walker without hesitation. Paul Merson has also highlighted Walker’s increasing speed despite his age, and even Harry Maguire, who has played alongside some of the fastest players like Marcus Rashford and Raheem Sterling, selected Walker as the quickest.

It’s remarkable that Walker, at 34, is still considered faster than Haaland, who is a decade younger. Despite Haaland’s impressive long-distance speed and his ability to outpace defenders like Jarrad Branthwaite and Kristoffer Ajer last season, Walker’s exceptional pace remains unrivaled. This not only underscores Walker’s remarkable athleticism but also reflects his enduring professionalism and elite fitness levels.
