Live Update: Alpha Prime Racing Taps Joe Williams as Crew Chief for 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Season
Alpha Prime Racing has made a significant addition to its 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series lineup by appointing Joe Williams as the crew chief for the No. 4 Chevrolet Camaro. This high-profile pairing sees Williams joining forces with promising driver Parker Retzlaff, who aims to build on an impressive track record in the upcoming season.
Joe Williams Brings Elite Experience
Joe Williams, a seasoned NASCAR veteran, steps into this role with a wealth of experience from his storied career. His path to Alpha Prime Racing has been marked by notable achievements, including his time as a crew chief in the NASCAR Cup Series. Recently, Williams served as crew chief for the No. 28 Ford Mustang Dark Horse at RSS Racing, a position he took after a mid-season transition from AM Racing.
At AM Racing, Williams demonstrated his ability to guide teams to success. He played a pivotal role in launching a new organization and led Brett Moffitt to one top-five and nine top-10 finishes. His career also features a victory at Auto Club Speedway with Cole Custer and SS-GreenLight Racing, further solidifying his credentials.
Parker Retzlaff Poised for Success
For 2025, Williams will partner with Parker Retzlaff, a young driver who has already proven his potential with three top-five finishes, 12 top-10 finishes, and pole positions at Richmond and Martinsville. Retzlaff expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, saying:
“We all want to win races, be consistent, and prove we’re here to compete. Everyone here has told me how much they believe in me and what I can do. I’m humbled, honestly. Obviously, I wouldn’t be here without the support of my partners—who I’m really excited to announce later.”
He continued, “Tommy and Caesar have put together an awesome team. It’s a big confidence booster for me to go into 2025 with a group that really wants me here.”
Team Owners Back the Vision
Team owner Caesar Bacarella also voiced his excitement about the new partnership:
“I’m just super excited to have him join us. He’s a young, really talented race car driver, and he’s going to help elevate the team.
“There’s been a lot of ups and downs, but Tommy and I agree it’s all about the people. It’s so hard—we’re racing against the best teams in the world. But we’ve got great people, and that’s what’s made it work. And now we’ve got two ace drivers in the stable full-time.”
