From Gamecocks Star to High School Head Coach

Born on November 23, 1997, in Duncan, South Carolina, Bentley’s rise through the football ranks has been nothing short of remarkable. A standout at James F. Byrnes High School, he transitioned seamlessly to college football, leading the South Carolina Gamecocks from 2016 to 2019. Bentley’s collegiate career also included stints with the Utah Utes in 2020 and the South Alabama Jaguars in 2021.

One of his most memorable seasons came in 2018, when he threw for 3,171 yards and 27 touchdowns for the Gamecocks, cementing his reputation as a prolific passer.

Transition to Coaching

After hanging up his cleats, Bentley wasted no time transitioning into coaching. In 2022, he joined Florida Atlantic University as a graduate assistant under head coach Willie Taggart, where he began honing his skills on the sidelines. By 2023, Bentley had advanced to quarterbacks coach at the University of North Alabama.

In May 2024, Bentley returned to his home state, joining Rock Hill High School as the quarterbacks coach, co-offensive coordinator, and passing game coordinator. His swift rise through the coaching ranks has now led him to Nation Ford High School, where he takes on his first head coaching role.
