Former NFL Star Robert Quinn Arrested in South Carolina Following Collision Incident
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – Former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Robert Quinn, 34, was arrested early Friday morning in North Charleston, South Carolina, after allegedly attempting to flee the scene of a collision.
Quinn faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and reckless driving, according to jail records.
The Incident: What Happened?
Police responded to a car dealership shortly after 2 a.m. following reports of a collision involving a red truck. The North Charleston Fire Department arrived first and informed police that the suspect might be attempting to leave in another vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers found Quinn in the passenger seat of a white Dodge Challenger with its reverse lights on. The driver of the Challenger, who claimed Quinn had called her for a ride, cooperated with authorities.
Quinn, however, exhibited slurred speech, visible facial injuries, and uncooperative behavior. When officers requested his identification, Quinn appeared disoriented, repeatedly asking, “Where is my wallet?” despite holding it in his hand.
Nearby, police found Quinn’s maroon Ford F-150, which appeared to have caused the multi-vehicle collision. The truck reportedly struck a Honda Element, pushing it into a blue Ford F-150, which then collided with another vehicle.
Resisting Police
When officers asked Quinn to exit the Challenger, he allegedly resisted by holding onto the car door. Police had to remove him from the vehicle and “escort him to the ground” as he attempted to pull away from them.
Further investigation revealed that Quinn had visited a nearby gentleman’s club called G-Club earlier in the evening. A club employee confirmed Quinn had left alone about an hour before the crash occurred.
Timeline of Events
Using city cameras, authorities pieced together the timeline:
- 2:00 a.m.: Quinn’s truck was seen veering off the road, crossing an intersection, and entering the dealership property.
- 2:03 a.m.: A single person (believed to be Quinn) was seen stumbling and falling several times while walking through the parking lot.
- 2:07 a.m.: Quinn returned to the scene as a white Dodge Challenger arrived.
