Interesting: “ESPN Insider Predicts Arch Manning Mania Will Rival Tim Tebow’s Legendary Run!”

LIVE UPDATE: THE ARCH MANNING ERA BEGINS—”TIM TEBOW-LEVEL HYSTERIA” EXPECTED

He’s not even the official starting quarterback yet, but Arch Manning may already be college football’s biggest star.

The Texas Longhorns saw flashes of greatness from Manning in limited action this season, and he delivered when called upon. In just his second career start, he led Texas to its first-ever SEC victory, cementing his name in program history. And when Quinn Ewers went down with an abdominal injury against UTSA on Sept. 14, Manning stepped in and lit up the field, throwing for 223 yards and four touchdowns.

Despite Ewers guiding Texas to a 13-3 record and a No. 5 College Football Playoff seed, many fans were already calling for Manning to take over. Now, with Ewers heading to the 2025 NFL Draft, there’s no more debate—this is officially Manning’s team.

“Tebow-Level Hysteria” Incoming?

With Manning locked in as QB1, expectations are through the roof. And according to ESPN’s Marty Smith, the hype isn’t just big—it’s historic.

“Just know this, brother, it’s going to be Tim Tebow-level hysteria this fall when we go to Austin,” Smith said on The Paul Finebaum Show. “Everywhere they go, they’re going to be rockstars. That is what I anticipate, and I think that’s what we’re going to see.”

For reference, Tebow was a college football icon, winning a Heisman Trophy and leading Florida to two national championships. If Manning’s hype is on that level, Texas is about to become the epicenter of the sport.

What Makes Manning Special?

In six games this season, Manning racked up 939 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and just two interceptions. But it’s his mobility that separates him from quarterbacks like Ewers.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian recognized this early, even designing specialized run packages to get Manning on the field more. And for good reason—his athleticism is elite.

  • 67-yard TD run vs. UTSA – Manning hit 20.7 mph, an NFL-level speed.
  • 40-yard dash: 4.6 seconds – That’s faster than all but one QB at the 2024 NFL Combine.

For comparison, Tebow was also an elite dual-threat QB, rushing for 2,947 yards and 57 touchdowns over four seasons with Florida. If Manning can replicate even a fraction of that success, Texas fans are in for something special.

The Future is Now

With the Longhorns officially entering the SEC and Manning set to take over, all eyes will be on Austin this fall. Will he live up to the Tebow-level hype?

One thing is certain—the Arch Manning era has arrived.
