Live from Columbia: South Carolina’s 2025 Recruiting Class Stacks Up with Key Playmakers
The South Carolina Gamecocks are making waves on the recruiting trail, putting together a strong 2025 class that ranks 20th nationally and 12th in the SEC, according to 247Sports Composite rankings (as of January 30, 2025).
With 26 commitments, head coach Shane Beamer has secured a mix of in-state stars and key out-of-state additions, bolstering the roster for the future. Leading the charge are several four-star prospects—including wide receivers Donovan Murph, Malik Clark, Lex Cyrus, and Brian Rowe Jr.—who bring explosive playmaking ability to the offense.
Key Commitments to Watch:
Donovan Murph (WR – Irmo High School, SC)
One of the biggest gets for South Carolina, Murph is a four-star wide receiver who reclassified from the 2026 class to join the Gamecocks in 2025. He chose South Carolina over Clemson, Colorado, Ole Miss, and Tennessee, after a dominant high school career with 153 catches, 2,412 yards, and 29 touchdowns in just two seasons.
Malik Clark (WR – Rock Hill High School, SC)
A 6’2″, 170-pound receiver with a proven track record, Clark originally committed to Florida State in July 2024 before flipping to South Carolina in October. He posted an all-state senior season with 68 catches, 976 yards, and 10 touchdowns, earning a spot in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.
Lex Cyrus (WR – Susquehanna Township HS, PA)
A speedster from Pennsylvania, Cyrus is a four-star receiver known for his agility and quickness. He picked South Carolina over Penn State and showcased elite production in 2023 with 67 receptions, 1,115 yards, and 13 touchdowns. Ranked as the 35th WR nationally, he adds explosive potential to the Gamecocks’ offense.
Brian Rowe Jr. (WR – Jay M. Robinson HS, NC)
Another top wideout, Rowe brings versatility, having scored 15 receiving touchdowns, three punt return TDs, and contributed defensively. At 6’0″, 155 pounds, his ability to stretch the field makes him a high-upside target for South Carolina.
Jordon Gidron (WR – Ridge View HS, SC)
Standing at 6’2″, 185 pounds, Gidron made a name for himself with 731 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. He also excels in track and field, showcasing elite athleticism.
Jayden Sellers (WR – South Florence HS, SC)
The younger brother of Gamecocks QB LaNorris Sellers, Jayden Sellers put up 1,344 total yards in his senior season, including 880 receiving yards and 14 TDs. He was a key figure in South Florence’s state championship run and adds another dynamic weapon to the roster.
Damola Ajidahun (OL – Duluth HS, GA)
Originally committed to Georgia Tech, Ajidahun flipped to South Carolina, bringing size and strength to the offensive line. Born in England, he didn’t start playing football until high school but has rapidly developed into a standout lineman.
Anthony Addison (Edge – Sumter HS, SC)
A dominant defensive force, Addison racked up 99 tackles, 21.5 TFLs, and 9 sacks as a senior, leading Sumter to the 5A state semifinals. Ranked 12th in South Carolina, he officially signed with the Gamecocks in December 2024.
Gamecocks Continue to Build Under Shane Beamer
This 2025 recruiting class reflects Shane Beamer’s commitment to building a competitive roster through a blend of in-state stars and key out-of-state pickups. With offensive firepower and defensive standouts, the Gamecocks are stacking talent for the future.
South Carolina’s next wave is here. And they’re ready to make an impact.
