Caleb Grill Impresses Again as Mizzou Dominates South Carolina

Following a tough loss at Arkansas, the Mizzou Tigers returned home to face the South Carolina Gamecocks in their second-to-last home game of the 2024-25 season.

Caleb Grill has been a consistent threat from three-point range all season, entering the game with an impressive 43.3% 3PT shooting percentage. He continued his hot streak against the Gamecocks.

Grill checked into the game at the 16:13 mark of the first half and immediately made his presence felt. He scored 10 of the Tigers’ next 12 points, extending their lead from one to 10. From there, Mizzou never trailed. Grill finished the first half with 14 points on an efficient 6-for-8 shooting performance.

Throughout the season, Grill has been a vital part of the Tigers’ success. He delivered standout performances in two of Mizzou’s biggest conference wins against top-5 ranked Alabama and Florida, scoring over 20 points in each game. These were defining moments in the Tigers’ season.

His impact against South Carolina was no different, leading the Tigers with 22 points. Five other Tigers also scored in double figures, contributing to a dominant 30-point victory. The Tigers shot an impressive 58% from three-point range, with Grill playing a significant role, hitting four three-pointers.

Grill’s contributions weren’t limited to offense. He also had four of the Tigers’ 11 steals, proving to be a force on both ends of the court.

Next up, the Tigers travel to Nashville to take on a tough Vanderbilt squad. In their January win against the Commodores, Grill’s scoring wasn’t as explosive. He went 4-for-9 from the field and 2-for-7 from three, while Mark Mitchell led the way to victory in that earlier matchup.
