Strader Breaks Miami Record, Highlights Strong Day at ACC Indoor Championships

Solomon Strader etched his name into Miami’s record books on Sunday, delivering a standout performance on Day Two of the ACC Indoor Championships at the Norton Health Care Sport and Learning Center.


Strader Shatters 27-Year-Old Record in 400m

Strader blazed through the 400m prelims, clocking an impressive 45.74 to advance to Monday’s final. His time broke the 27-year-old Miami record of 45.86, previously set by Davian Clarke on March 14, 1998. Strader’s mark ranks 13th in the nation this season and was the second-fastest qualifying time in the event.


Campre Claims Silver in Heptathlon

Edgar Campre put together a strong all-around performance, securing a silver medal in the heptathlon with a total of 5,777 points. He placed third in all three of Sunday’s events, running an 8.03 in the 60m hurdles, clearing 4.70m in the pole vault, and finishing the 1000m in 2:47.67.


Jones Advances in Thrilling 800m Finish

In a dramatic finish, Josh Jones punched his ticket to the 800m final, narrowly winning his heat by just .004 seconds. Jones trailed heading into the final lap but surged ahead with a 27.41 split, edging out Clemson’s Brian Kweyei at the line.


Torns and Hebron Make Their Mark

Ashton Torns wrapped up competition in the long jump, securing seventh place with a mark of 7.31m.

On the women’s side, Sanaa Hebron earned a spot in the 400m final, clocking a 53.35, the fourth-fastest time in the prelims. Meanwhile, Gabriella Grissom advanced to the 800m final with a time of 2:03.48.


Final Day of Competition Awaits

Miami will conclude its run at the ACC Indoor Championships on Monday, kicking off at 11 a.m. with the women’s triple jump, followed by track events beginning at 1 p.m., starting with the women’s 400m final.
