South Carolina Women’s Basketball Shatters Records Again – Sets Unmatched Attendance Standard for 11th Straight Season!
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The South Carolina Gamecocks just proved once again why they’re not only dominant on the court – but in the stands too. In an unprecedented show of support, the South Carolina women’s basketball team has officially led the nation in attendance for the 11th consecutive season, raising the bar for women’s college basketball nationwide.
This year, the Gamecocks drew an average of 16,437 fans per game, the highest in program history and nearly 1,500 more than the next closest team. That number also marks the second straight season the Gamecocks have averaged more than 16,000 fans per contest – an achievement few programs can even dream of.
Incredibly, South Carolina played in the nine largest crowds of the season. The only games that saw bigger turnouts were the NCAA National Semifinals and Championship Game – and even then, the Gamecocks weren’t far behind. At home, they completely sold out seven games, creating an electric atmosphere that’s become a hallmark of their dominance.

South Carolina’s attendance reign began in the 2014-15 season, when they averaged 12,293 fans per game. Since then, they’ve consistently packed Colonial Life Arena, transforming it into one of the most intimidating venues in college basketball.
Although they fall just short of Tennessee’s NCAA-record streak of 11 seasons as the official attendance leader (2004–14) due to the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting one season, the Gamecocks have undoubtedly carved out a legacy of their own.
With support like this, it’s clear: South Carolina fans aren’t just showing up — they’re showing out. And the message to the rest of the nation is loud and clear — the Gamecocks are setting the standard both on and off the court.
