Bree Hall Joins Aliyah Boston in Shocking WNBA Draft Twist That Has Gamecock Fans Buzzing

South Carolina guard Bree Hall is officially headed to the WNBA, selected by the Indiana Fever with the No. 20 overall pick in the second round of the 2025 WNBA Draft on Monday night. Hall will be reunited with former South Carolina teammate Aliyah Boston, now a star with the Fever.

“BIG BREEZY REUNION … im literally crying rn,” Boston wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after the pick was announced.

Earlier in the day, ESPN had projected Hall as an early third-round selection, making her second-round pick a pleasant surprise. A key piece of one of South Carolina’s most decorated recruiting classes, she joined forces with Sania Feagin and Raven Johnson to help deliver two national championships to Columbia during her time under Coach Dawn Staley.

Renowned for her elite defense and ability to hit clutch shots, Hall averaged 6.3 points and 3 rebounds per game this past season. Dawn Staley praised her, calling Hall “one of the best defenders” she’s ever coached.

Hall was the second Gamecock taken in this year’s draft, following Te-Hina Paopao, who went No. 18 overall to the Atlanta Dream. Soon after Hall’s selection, Sania Feagin also heard her name called, going to the Los Angeles Sparks later in the second round.
