“From Gamecock Glory to Hollywood Lights: Sania Feagin Joins Los Angeles Sparks in WNBA Draft Surprise!”

South Carolina forward Sania Feagin was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks with the No. 21 overall pick in the second round of the 2025 WNBA Draft on Monday night.

“This feeling is like something you can’t even explain,” Feagin shared after hearing her name called. “Just to know that I grew up and started from really nothing, and that’s where I am now is amazing.”

Feagin’s draft stock surged late in the season, fueled by standout performances that earned her a spot on the All-SEC Defensive Team—her first All-SEC honor—as well as All-SEC Tournament and NCAA All-Regional Team recognition in March. She wrapped up her junior year averaging a career-high 8.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game.

Feagin became the third South Carolina player selected in the 2025 WNBA Draft, and notably, the only Gamecock in attendance at the draft in New York. She was accompanied by head coach Dawn Staley and several South Carolina staff members.

“It felt amazing just to see her out there,” Feagin said about Staley. “Her support is amazing.”

Her teammates Te-Hina Paopao and Bree Hall were also selected in the second round—Paopao at No. 18 to the Atlanta Dream, and Hall at No. 20 to the Indiana Fever.

“It meant a lot to me just to know that we all got drafted back-to-back-to-back,” Feagin said. “I texted in a group chat to let them know congratulations. We did it, we made it this far. It just means a lot to be here with my teammates.”
