South Carolina State Women’s Basketball Parts Ways with Head Coach Tim Eatman After Tough Tenure
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WIS) — A new chapter is set to begin for the South Carolina State women’s basketball program, as the university prepares to introduce a fresh face to lead the Lady Bulldogs.
On Friday, the school confirmed that Head Coach Tim Eatman has officially resigned after three challenging seasons at the helm. During his time in Orangeburg, the program struggled to gain traction, managing just seven total wins, including a disheartening 2-29 record in the most recent season.
Despite the tough stretch, SC State expressed gratitude for Eatman’s leadership and commitment.
“I appreciate Coach Eatman for his efforts at South Carolina State on and off the court and wish him and his family the best in the future,” said Interim Athletics Director Oliver “Buddy” Pough in an official statement.
Eatman’s departure marks the end of a difficult era for the Lady Bulldogs, who are eager for a resurgence under new leadership. The university has announced that a new head coach will be revealed on Tuesday, signaling the start of what many hope will be a transformative period for the program.
