Several kickoff times for the South Carolina Gamecocks’ 2025 football season have officially been revealed, giving fans their first look at when and where to tune in for the start of what could be a pivotal year.
On Thursday, the SEC released a set of early-season kickoff times and TV designations for the upcoming college football campaign. For the Gamecocks, the first three weeks of their 2025 schedule are now locked in, including exact kickoff times and broadcast channels.
Here’s what’s been confirmed so far for South Carolina:
- Week One: vs. Virginia Tech (Atlanta) – 3:00 PM on ESPN
- Week Two: vs. South Carolina State – 7:00 PM on ESPN+
- Week Three: vs. Vanderbilt – 7:00 or 7:45 PM on ESPN or SEC Network
While those opening weeks offer a manageable path to build momentum, the second half of the season presents a formidable gauntlet. The Gamecocks are set to face a brutal stretch featuring Texas A&M, LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Clemson, and Oklahoma — a lineup that could determine their playoff fate.
“It’s a tough break for a team that has playoff aspirations this year,” noted one insider, reflecting the reality of South Carolina’s late-season climb.
High Expectations in Columbia
Coming off a 9-3 regular season in 2024, the Gamecocks narrowly missed a playoff berth, but hopes are sky-high entering 2025 — and much of that optimism centers around LaNorris Sellers. The dynamic quarterback is back under center and is widely regarded as one of the top prospects in the nation.
Some analysts even believe Sellers could be the first quarterback selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, should he continue his upward trajectory.
Under head coach Shane Beamer, South Carolina experienced some early growing pains, but the program now appears to be hitting its stride.
“The tides might be turning for the Gamecocks,” as the program eyes not just SEC contention but a legitimate shot at a College Football Playoff run.
With a challenging road ahead and a star quarterback leading the charge, the 2025 season could be one of the most pivotal in recent Gamecock football History
