Isaac Ellis Commits to South Carolina, Joining Brother Eli in Gamecocks Basketball Future

The South Carolina Gamecocks men’s basketball program gained a major boost for its future this week, as Isaac Ellis, younger brother of current Gamecocks commit Eli Ellis, officially announced his commitment to South Carolina.

Isaac, a promising prospect in the Class of 2026, becomes the first commitment of that recruiting cycle for head coach Lamont Paris and his staff. His decision to join the Gamecocks sets the stage for a family reunion on the court in the near future.

Eli Ellis, part of South Carolina’s 2025 recruiting class, is set to arrive on campus this year. The 6-foot guard was ranked the No. 95 player nationally, the No. 13 point guard, and the fifth-best player in North Carolina, adding immediate talent to a team looking for a spark.

South Carolina is aiming to bounce back after a disappointing 2024 campaign, where they landed at the bottom of the SEC standings despite having standout forward Collin Murray-Boyles, who is widely projected to be a lottery pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Despite the tough season, there’s optimism in Columbia. Coach Paris wasted no time reloading the roster — landing several new pieces from the transfer portal and putting together a strong incoming freshman class. The arrival of Eli, followed by Isaac’s commitment, adds even more excitement for fans looking toward the program’s long-term future.

With both Ellis brothers poised to wear garnet and black, the Gamecocks may have a dynamic sibling duo to help steer them back into NCAA Tournament contention. As the SEC grows more competitive each year, these recruiting wins are a promising sign of South Carolina’s upward trajectory.
