Colonial Life Arena Name Here to Stay as USC Renews Landmark Sponsorship Deal
The heart of South Carolina sports and entertainment will continue to beat under the same iconic name—Colonial Life Arena. The University of South Carolina has officially extended its naming rights agreement with Colonial Life, ensuring the arena will retain its name through June 2027.
This renewal marks a continuation of a partnership that has stood strong for over 20 years, transforming Colonial Life Arena (CLA) into more than just a sports venue—it’s become a cultural landmark for Gamecock fans and the broader Columbia community.
The arena first opened in November 2002, with the South Carolina women’s basketball team taking the inaugural tip-off. Since then, it’s been the setting for some of the most unforgettable moments in Gamecock history, including three national championships under legendary head coach Dawn Staley, packed men’s basketball matchups, and a stage for major concerts and live events.
Beyond the hardwood and bright lights, Colonial Life’s impact reaches into USC’s academic and community initiatives. The company has played a vital role in advancing education through its involvement with the Darla Moore School of Business, the College of Education, and innovative programs like the Classroom Catalyst Grant Program and CarolinaTIP, which supports teachers in their early years.
