Lauryn Goodman has two children with Manchester City and England defender Kyle Walker and has shared her plans for addressing her son’s questions about his father in a previously recorded interview.
Influencer Lauryn Goodman has made it clear that she “will not be bullied” or “silenced” when her son Kairo begins to inquire about his father. The 33-year-old mother of two, Kairo and Kinara, had an affair with England footballer Kyle Walker, who also has four children with his wife, Annie.
In a podcast interview, Lauryn revealed that she plans to take Kairo to speak with Kyle when he starts asking about his father. She mentioned that both she and Kyle were “shocked” when they found out they were expecting Kairo, now four years old.
During a conversation with Teen Mom UK star Mia Broadman in 2020, Lauryn emphasized that she would “not be silenced” if Kairo starts asking about his father. Recently, Lauryn shared photos of Kairo and Kinara in England shirts with “Daddy” and Kyle’s number two on the back during Euro 2024, and even brought the children to the tournament.
Speaking on the Nappy Days podcast, Lauryn said: “As soon as he starts asking about his dad, then he can go and ask his dad. I’m happy enough to take him there.” She added that Kyle should handle those conversations directly: “Kyle can deal with that directly because I’m not going to be the one who has to pick up all of the pieces. I’ve been picking up the pieces, don’t get me wrong, but two of us made this decision and that is how it is.”
Lauryn also expressed her strong character, stating, “I’m not going to be bullied into being silenced, or into anything. When he starts asking those questions, we’re going to take a trip, and he can ask him those questions himself.”
This week, Lauryn faced a legal setback when a judge criticized her for treating Kyle Walker as an “open-ended chequebook.” Honour Judge Edward Hess rebuked Lauryn for her lack of honesty and unreasonable behavior, dismissing most of her financial claims against the footballer, including demands for a £33,000 air conditioning system, a new £70,000 car every four years, and a £31,200 astroturf football area.
The court heard that Kyle had initially complied with her requests, purchasing a £2.4 million house in Sussex among other things. However, the judge noted Lauryn’s attempts to secure more money by threatening to disclose Kyle’s paternity publicly, a tactic that left Kyle “horrified.”
Judge Hess pointed out that Lauryn had “no intention of keeping the matter secret” and eventually texted Kyle’s wife, causing distress. He stated, “The mother decided to send a text message to the father’s wife on 27th December 2023, at a time when she knew the father was playing football, saying: ‘Hey, it’s Lauryn. I just wanted to quickly tell you that Kyle is the father of our daughter.'”
Following the case, a spokesperson for Kyle Walker said, “This judgement speaks for itself in laying bare Lauryn Goodman’s insatiable greed and relentless pursuit of money. The judge made it clear: she used Kyle as an open-ended chequebook and repeatedly threatened him to get what she wanted.”
The spokesperson added that Kyle had adopted a “fair and generous stance” throughout the proceedings and that the court case was unnecessary. They requested that the media respect the family’s privacy as they navigate their next steps.
In her response to the ruling, Lauryn Goodman expressed gratitude and relief, saying, “I’d like to thank the judge for his careful consideration, with my children’s needs at the heart of his decision. These have been difficult and stressful proceedings, which I had hoped would not be necessary. This has only ever been about the children and providing for their futures.”
She continued to acknowledge her legal team’s efforts and the judge’s decision, stating, “Thanks to my legal team and the judge’s decision, my children’s childhood is secure, and I will now focus on building a solid future for them. More than anything, I look forward to enjoying every moment with my children and the three of us being able to get on with our lives.”
