Phil Foden might miss Manchester City’s upcoming match against West Ham, as the England international is still feeling under the weather.
Foden was already absent for City’s match against Ipswich on Saturday due to illness, and according to Pep Guardiola, he still isn’t feeling well ahead of the West Ham game. Although Foden made an appearance in the second half of the season opener, he may have to sit out a second consecutive match if he doesn’t recover in time for Saturday’s clash.
Meanwhile, Rodri and Mateo Kovacic could be in the mix for selection. Rodri, who has been easing back into training after an extended break following Spain’s European Championship win, joined the squad this week for the first time since his return. Kovacic, who picked up an injury against Ipswich, is also back in training and could be available for the West Ham match.
Guardiola indicated that no other players are currently a concern, with Jack Grealish fully fit again after coming off the bench against Ipswich.
City currently sit atop the Premier League table after two games, following a 2-0 victory over Chelsea and a 4-1 win at home against Ipswich. The match against West Ham will be their final league game before the September international break, with a busy schedule resuming immediately afterward.
