“Pep Guardiola ‘Set’ to Quit Man City Next Summer – But Could a Dramatic U-Turn Be on the Cards?”

Pep Guardiola, now in his final contract year at Manchester City, may leave the club next summer, though a new report hints he could be reconsidering. While the 53-year-old has yet to confirm his future, he hasn’t ruled out extending his stay. City fans have already shown their desire for Guardiola to remain, with banners displayed during a recent match, reading, “Pep Guardiola, we want you to stay,” written in his native Catalan.

Grateful but noncommittal, Guardiola responded: “What’s going to happen is going to happen,” even joking he’d cover the cost of the fan-made banners.

After winning the Premier League last season, Guardiola hinted at his possible departure but later clarified that while he’s closer to leaving than staying, no decision has been made. Rumors from The Athletic suggested that his exit was already agreed upon but isn’t yet final, and City is reportedly working to persuade him to remain.

Having secured 18 major trophies, including the 2023 Treble, Guardiola is already City’s most successful manager ever. However, whether ongoing legal issues involving the Premier League might influence his decision remains uncertain. Those close to Guardiola expect him to decide his future by winter.
