“Jack Grealish Reveals What He’s Learned from Training with Angel Gomes Amid Man United Transfer Buzz!”

Manchester City star Jack Grealish credited Angel Gomes for his assist in England’s 3-1 Nations League win over Finland, while praising the former Manchester United midfielder’s talents amid rumors of his potential return to Old Trafford.

Since Lee Carsley‘s appointment as interim England manager, Gomes has been a regular feature in the squad. After leaving United in 2020, the 24-year-old has flourished at French club Lille, establishing himself as a key player. On Sunday night, he made just his second start for England, delivering a perfect through ball to Grealish, who calmly slotted it home in Helsinki.

Gomes‘ impressive performances for both club and country have sparked fan discussions about whether Manchester United should bring him back in the summer. With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Gomes is reportedly open to leaving Lille on a free transfer.

Speaking to ITV Sport after the match, Grealish expressed admiration for Gomes’ talent, noting that he wasn’t surprised by the quality of his assist. “Yeah, you know it was top,” Grealish said. “I think it all comes from the manager letting us play with that freedom. I can’t remember exactly what happened, but I think I came inside, and Trent [Alexander-Arnold] ended up out wide and Jude [Bellingham]… but listen, I train with Angel every day, and I know what a top player he is.”

Grealish added, “I haven’t watched it back yet, but I remember it being a brilliant assist.” If Gomes decides not to renew his contract at Lille, Manchester United could begin talks with him in January under FIFA’s Bosman rule.
