“Erling Haaland Sparks Injury Fears at Man City Training—Here’s What Really Happened!”

Erling Haaland Sparks Brief Injury Scare in City Training Ahead of Sporting Clash

Erling Haaland sent a ripple of concern through Manchester City’s training camp on Monday as he went down clutching his shin, raising alarms briefly amidst the club’s ongoing injury concerns. Already missing Ruben Dias, John Stones, and Jack Grealish, City’s squad could hardly afford another high-profile setback.

With 24 players on the training pitch—bolstered by a few academy talents—City was preparing for their upcoming Champions League tie against Sporting CP. Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker, recently back from injury, were a welcome sight as they rejoined the team over the weekend. Not all of the young players will be making the trip to Lisbon, but City hopes Haaland will be part of the squad flying out on Monday afternoon.

After a warm-up session, the players split into small groups for a rondo drill, with media permitted to observe the session’s initial stages. During the drill, Haaland suddenly dropped to the ground without any contact, holding his shin and looking visibly uncomfortable. Phil Foden checked on him, but his casual reaction suggested there was no serious concern. Moments later, Haaland stood up, flashed a grin, and resumed training without any signs of limping or lingering pain.

Haaland’s shin took a knock over the weekend in a hard challenge by Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook. Despite the intensity of the tackle, Haaland shrugged it off and completed the match, with no repercussions for Cook.

City’s squad list for the trip to Lisbon will be confirmed later, with manager Pep Guardiola expected to address the media after their arrival in Portugal.
