Former Aston Villa midfielder Henri Lansbury believes there’s a chance Jack Grealish could someday return to his beloved Villa Park, though it would have to be the right moment in his career and all conditions would need to align perfectly.
Having been pivotal in Aston Villa’s rise back to the Premier League, Grealish left for Manchester City in 2021. Since then, he’s thrived at the Etihad, securing three Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, and a treble in 2023. “The Manchester City move was an unreal one for Jack,” Lansbury shared. “He deserves every bit of success because he’s that kind of player. At Villa, it was ‘give it to Jack’ and let him shine, but at City, he’s in a team that often faces defensive setups. It’s a totally different style, but he’s adapted and has been fantastic.”
Reflecting on Grealish’s accomplishments, Lansbury expressed his admiration. “He’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet and a close friend. Three Premier Leagues, a Champions League, and a treble? I don’t think he’s unhappy with that. He’ll always want to do more, but under Guardiola, he’s playing a different kind of game.”
