This week’s Champions League results will be announced for Manchester United and Manchester City.

The three teams that Manchester United and Manchester City will face in the 2023–24 Champions League group stages will be revealed later this week.

After competing in the Europa League the previous season, the Red Devils are making their way back to the top table of Europe, while City will be attempting to retain their title.

Before this week’s eagerly awaited drawing, we have all the information below.

When is the draw for the Champions League?

On Thursday, August 31, at 5 p.m. UK time, the draw will take place in Monaco.

On Uefa’s website and YouTube channel, the draw will be streamed live, and TNT Sport will also be covering the action live from Monaco.

How does the drawing operate?

Four teams will be placed in eight different groups after the draw. The groups are seeded, with the highest ranked clubs placed in pot one and the lowest ranked clubs placed in pot four. The 2022/23 league champions from the top-ranked divisions across Europe are included in Pot 1, along with the Champions League and Europa League champions from the previous season.

The first-ranked teams are drawn first, followed by the teams from pots 2, 3, and 4. In the group stages, clubs from the same nation cannot be combined. The group-stage match dates will be announced later that day after the draw is finished.

On Thursday, eight groups of four players will be matched up for the Champions League group stage.

Who might Manchester United and Manchester City play?

In the group stages, 26 teams have already qualified, and this week’s play-off games will decide who will fill the remaining six spots. City is in the top pot as the English and European champion, while United is in the bottom pot.

POT ONE: Feyenoord, Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, Napoli, Manchester City, Sevilla, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Sevilla.

POT TWO: Porto, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Inter Milan, and RB Leipzig.

POT THREE: Red Star Belgrade, Lazio, AC Milan, Shakhtar Donetsk, and RB Salzburg.

Real Sociedad and Celtic are in pots three or four.

Newcastle United, Union Berlin, and Lens make up Pot 4.

Young Boys (0) v Maccabi Haifa, AEK Athens (0) v Antwerp, Copenhagen (1) v Rakow Czestochowa, Galatasaray (3) v Molde, PSV Eindhoven (2) v Rangers, and Panathinaikos (1) v Braga are the matchups.

The games for the group stage are when?

First gameday is September 19–20.

October 3/4, second matchday.

November 7–8 is gameday 4.

November 28 and 29, “Matchday 5.”.

December 12–13 is gameday six.

Another thing?

The top two teams at the end of the group stage will advance to the Champions League knockout stages, while the third-place teams will play in the Europa League. The 2022–23 Player of the Year and Coach of the Year awards will also be given out during Thursday’s draw for both the men’s and women’s divisions.
