“Are the Lions Doomed? Shocking Number of Points Needed to Survive Against the Bills!”

After four consecutive weeks of landing at 99% confidence, the fan vote last week dropped to 91%, the second-lowest mark of the season (the lowest being after the loss to the Bucs). Despite the dip, the Detroit Lions once again took care of business, defeating the Green Bay Packers for the second time this season. The Lions now sit at 12-1 on the year (a franchise record), have won 11 games in a row (another franchise record), and have clinched a postseason spot for the second consecutive year.

Now it’s time to vote again. Will the percentage bounce back after another victory? Or are the Buffalo Bills too daunting an opponent for some fans to be swayed?

For our second poll, we’re revisiting last week’s question for two reasons. First, the Lions’ defense is still grappling with injuries as Detroit prepares to face a top-five offense once again. Second, fans absolutely nailed the poll last week!

Ahead of the Packers game, a majority (49%) of voters predicted the Lions would need to score between 30 and 34 points, and that’s exactly what happened—the Lions won 34-31.

This week, the same question returns:
How many points will the Lions offense need to score to beat the Bills?

The options are:

  • 19 or fewer
  • 20 to 24
  • 25 to 29
  • 30 to 34
  • 35 or more

Over the Bills’ recent seven-game win streak, they scored between 30 and 35 points in six games. In last week’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams, they put up 42 points. The Bills are averaging 30.5 points per game this season, second in the NFL behind only the Lions, who lead the league with an average of 32.1 points per game.

Defensively, the Lions boast a top-two scoring defense, allowing just 18 points per game on average. The Bills aren’t far behind, ranking eighth in scoring defense and conceding an average of 20.6 points per game.

With points likely at a premium in this matchup, the poll results should be fascinating. Cast your vote below, and check back later this week to see how the fans weigh in!
