“UConn Dominates South Carolina as Paige Bueckers Earns Prestigious Honor”
The No. 5 Connecticut Huskies delivered a statement win on Sunday, dismantling the No. 6 South Carolina Gamecocks 87-58 at Colonial Life Arena in what was arguably their most dominant performance of the season.
With the victory, UConn improved to 24-3, extending their impressive stretch of 14 wins in their last 15 games as they gear up for a crucial regular-season finale, starting with Seton Hall on Wednesday night.
Paige Bueckers Named Semifinalist for Sullivan Award
As if the Huskies’ triumph wasn’t enough, star guard Paige Bueckers received more recognition on Tuesday, being named a semifinalist for the prestigious James E. Sullivan Award—an honor celebrating excellence in competition, character, leadership, and sportsmanship.

She joins fellow standout Juju Watkins of USC as a contender for the award, further solidifying her place among the nation’s elite athletes.
“Fans can vote every day through Feb. 25 to make Paige a finalist,” UConn Women’s Basketball shared in a post on social media.
Bueckers’ Incredible Comeback
Bueckers’ journey has been one of perseverance and elite talent. After a devastating torn ACL in 2022 sidelined her for an entire season, she has returned stronger than ever. Now in her final year at UConn, she remains one of the most electrifying players in college basketball and a projected top pick in the WNBA Draft.

This season, Bueckers has been phenomenal, averaging 18.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 2.1 steals, and 0.6 blocks while shooting an impressive 52.6% from the field and 41.6% from three-point range.
Huskies Eye a No. 1 Seed
With just four games left in the regular season, UConn is in prime position to secure a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. This year’s championship race is wide open, with teams like the Huskies ready to make a deep run.
Stay tuned as Paige Bueckers and UConn continue their pursuit of championship glory!
