According to IAN LADYMAN on the podcast “It’s All Kicking Off”, Gabriel Jesus is NOT an elite striker, and Arsenal will find it difficult to defeat Manchester City to the Premier League title without one.
- Gabriel Jesus “is not the elite striker Arsenal needs to dethrone Manchester City,” according to the article.
- In the Gunners’ draw with Tottenham, the Brazilian lost a tremendous opportunity.
According to Ian Ladyman, Gabriel Jesus is not a top-tier striker, and Arsenal may not be able to defeat Manchester City without one in their front line.
Jesus started in attack for the Gunners in their 2-2 draw with Tottenham on Sunday in the North London derby, and while he did well overall, he missed a wonderful opportunity to give Arsenal a 2-0 lead in the first half.
Just inside the box, the Brazilian was able to steal the ball from James Maddison, but he was unable to complete the play and sent his shot over the crossbar.
Jesus is not a striker on par with the best in the Premier League, according to Ladyman, Mail Sport’s Football Editor, who was speaking on the It’s All Kicking Off podcast this week.
Jesus, he’s not an elite striker, Ladyman said.
According to Ian Ladyman, Gabriel Jesus is not a top-tier striker on the newest It’s All Kicking Off team.
In Sunday’s North London derby against Tottenham, Jesus passed up a significant opportunity for Arsenal.
I’m not saying Gabriel Jesus shouldn’t be anywhere near an Arsenal shirt.
That is absurd.
I’m trying to say that I’m not positive they have a top striker.
When trying to unseat Manchester City, who do have a talented striker, I wonder if they will be able to do it without one.’ .
Chris Sutton chose to highlight the Brazilian’s other qualities, including his impact on Man City’s wide areas and the development of the attack since his transfer to north London.
However, Ladyman persisted in harping on the Gunners striker, raising concerns about whether Jesus fulfilled his potential while playing for Man City and the reasoning behind Pep Guardiola’s decision to let him go last summer.
However, he added, “Manchester City purchased Gabriel Jesus in an effort to replace Sergio Aguero on a long-term basis, but it failed.”.
“I recall interviewing him when he first arrived, and there was such a fuss about him, such high expectations, and it didn’t work.”.
He was helpless to remove Aguero from the squad, and Guardiola eventually sold him.
Guardiola doesn’t make many mistakes and he doesn’t sell elite footballers, does he?
Zinchenko going to Arsenal might have been a mistake, according to some.
I’m not certain that it was sincere.
“He sent Sterling to Chelsea.”.
That did not turn out to be a mistake.
Jesus just might not be that person, in my opinion.
His performance in terms of numbers worries me. We shall however see. ‘ .
Jesus moved to the Emirates at the beginning of last season in a £45 million deal from City, and he made an impression in the first half of the season before getting hurt while playing for Brazil at the World Cup, which kept him out until March.
For the Gunners, he scored 11 goals in 26 games, but through three games this season, he has only scored one goal.
In the new show, Ladyman and Chris Sutton talked about the contribution Jesus has made at Arsenal.
