According to Ian Ladyman, Gabriel Jesus is not a top-tier striker, and Arsenal may not be able to defeat Manchester City without one in their front line.
Jesus started in attack for the Gunners in their 2-2 draw with Tottenham on Sunday in the North London derby, and while he did well overall, he missed a wonderful opportunity to give Arsenal a 2-0 lead in the first half.
Just inside the box, the Brazilian was able to steal the ball from James Maddison, but he was unable to complete the play and sent his shot over the crossbar.

However, Ladyman persisted in harping on the Gunners striker, raising concerns about whether Jesus fulfilled his potential while playing for Man City and the reasoning behind Pep Guardiola’s decision to let him go last summer.
However, he added, “Manchester City purchased Gabriel Jesus in an effort to replace Sergio Aguero on a long-term basis, but it failed.”.
“I recall interviewing him when he first arrived, and there was such a fuss about him, such high expectations, and it didn’t work.”.
He was helpless to remove Aguero from the squad, and Guardiola eventually sold him.
