Ahead of El Clásico Robert Lewandowski undergo further tests.

Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski will undergo further tests ahead of El Clásico due to an ankle injury.

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski underwent further tests on his ankle injury on Monday to check his fitness ahead of El Clásico.

A player of the Polish national team has left the field after injuring himself during the Champions League match against Porto.

Lewandowski has missed Barcelona’s last two games and remains a major doubt for Saturday’s game against Real Madrid.

The tests showed that everything was fine and there were no “complications”.

However, Lewandowski has yet to fully recover from his injury, Polish newspaper Meczyk reported.

He is expected to undergo another test this weekend, which will make it very clear if he will be eligible to play.

The current thinking is that Lewandowski is in a race against time, but if he does play on Saturday he will only feature as a substitute and not a starter.
