Regarding “difficult” Arsenal competition, Emile Smith Rowe addresses Aaron Ramsdale.

Aaron Ramsdale would be well advised to pay attention to his Arsenal teammate, Emile Smith Rowe, who is well aware of how it feels to lose his spot in the starting lineup.

With remarks that Aaron Ramsdale might take notice of, Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has shed light on the competition for first-team time at Arsenal.

Smith Rowe, a recent graduate of the Arsenal academy, made his debut in the latter half of 2020 and provided some of the brightest moments in the club’s history.

The 23-year-old England international scored 10 league goals during the 2021–2022 season, but he failed to register even one goal in any competition during the previous campaign.

Smith Rowe’s previous campaign was cut short by surgery at the end of 2022, but by January he was healthy enough to be named in matchday squads.

Even so, on-field time was scarce; Smith Rowe’s first start for the team in 499 days came on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup victory away at Brentford.

Goalkeeper Ramsdale, who began this season as the first-choice shot-stopper but appears to have lost that position to summer signing David Raya, was paired with him in the starting lineup.

The last two Premier League games were started by Raya, who also started in goal for the Champions League match that followed.

Ramsdale, on the other hand, might find inspiration from Smith Rowe’s post-game comments about his own struggle to reclaim a spot in the team as he prepares for a fight for the no.1 spot.

Being at a large club like Arsenal, we are aware of the intense competition.

It will always be difficult to secure your position on the team, and challenges will always arise.

Simply put, I must never stop having faith in myself.

I had to maintain my mental toughness and make an effort to remain as optimistic as I could after returning but not quite fitting back into the team.

“.

The fact that Smith Rowe was kind enough to thank his manager Mikel Arteta for his contribution to the healing process may have allayed Ramsdale’s worries about being abandoned.

“The gaffer has really helped me with that (staying positive),” he continued.

Aaron Ramsdale, a teammate of Emile Smith Rowe, might find inspiration from his tale.

He assisted me in getting through my injury and frequently dragged me aside for discussions about how I could develop my mental fortitude, among other things.

“.

After Ramsdale made his first start since the victory over Manchester United at the beginning of this month, Arteta himself offered some insight into the situation.

The Arsenal manager reacted angrily to questions about the situation by saying: “I don’t think I’m the one to ask the quality of Aaron Ramsdale, because I was the one that I brought him when everyone was questioning that decision.
