In spite of missing Rodri for Manchester City’s last two games, he will play against RB Leipzig.
For the best chance of staying fit, Pep Guardiola will give Rodri some time off following RB Leipzig.
The Spanish midfielder received a three-match suspension for his red card against Nottingham Forest, so Manchester City will be without him for the weekend match against Arsenal.
He will miss the final game at the Emirates on Sunday after already missing the defeats to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup and Wolves in the Premier League.
Since the suspension does not apply to European competitions, the 27-year-old will start the match against RB Leipzig, and Guardiola has confirmed that he will do so rather than using the Champions League match to determine the best strategy for Arsenal.
Rodri, on the other hand, won’t be required to go to North London with the team but will be given more time to relax before joining the Spain team for their upcoming matches.
“Rodri will play the game tomorrow and then take a break before traveling to Madrid for four or five days to prepare for the international break with his team.
Guardiola said, “He has to do it.
Rodri played the most minutes of any City player this season and informed the staff in the summer that if they wanted to ensure his continued peak performance, they couldn’t expect him to play the same amount of minutes again this year. His domestic suspension will end in time for the Premier League game against Brighton at home later this month.
Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol, both from Croatia, were acquired by City from Chelsea and RB Leipzig, respectively.
Jeremy Doku was the newest addition.
Later, on deadline day, Matheus Nunes of the Wolves joined the Blues.
Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez, and Treble winner Ilkay Gundogan all moved to Barcelona while Cole Palmer completed an unexpected transfer to Chelsea.
