Bayern Munich and La Liga winners Barcelona are expected to fight fiercely for the prized 26-year-old Girona winger Viktor Tsygankov during the upcoming January transfer window.
Tsygankov, who was born in Dynamo Kyiv, has gained a lot of attention since he joined Girona in January 2023. Even though the Ukrainian international has only made 16 appearances and recorded three goals and three assists, he has been instrumental in Girona’s rise to the top of La Liga.
Bayern Munich has now entered the race, but Barcelona had previously shown interest in Tsygankov as a possible Raphinha replacement, according to a report by the Spanish publication Fichajes.
Because Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry are both rumored to be on the verge of summer moves, the Bundesliga champions are actively looking for a wide attacker.
The 26-year-old winger has added another level of intrigue to the transfer saga by establishing himself as a viable target for Bayern Munich thanks to his performances for Girona.
Although Tsygankov is being considered by Barcelona as a potential addition to their team, it is unclear if the Ukrainian will move to Germany the following season or if the Blaugrana can handle the Bundesliga’s challenge.
Two of the biggest teams in football are vying for Tsygankov’s signature, which could lead to an exciting transfer window matchup.
