A BBC journalist believes there’s a good chance the £34 million Liverpool player will depart soon.

Liverpool has been very active in the transfer market even though the January window has only been open for four days. Maybe not in the manner you might anticipate, though.

The team has completed four transactions thus far, recalling players from loan agreements. James Balagizi, Owen Beck, Rhys Williams, and Fabio Carvalho have all since returned to Anfield.

Of course, the big transfers that could affect Liverpool’s first team are the ones that everyone is watching.

The future of Mohamed Salah is unquestionably one of the most important questions surrounding Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup at the moment.

What does Mohamed Salah’s future hold?

He is now in the final 18 months of his contract, and it is unclear if Liverpool will try to make him stay longer. Although there have been no official reports up to this point, there are rumors that a possible renewal is in the works.

The future of Mohamed Salah was discussed on the most recent episode of BBC Transfer Gossip Daily, with reporter Luke Edwards discussing potential plans for the Egyptian.

The writer, who also contributes to The Telegraph, implied that he is nearly positive Salah will eventually join the Saudi league.

In response to a question about whether Salah had recently inked a new contract, Edwards said, “Yeah he did.”

“Mo Salah to the Saudi Pro League, I believe. If I were to pull out my crystal ball and predict a transfer, that would be it. They made a very, very strong attempt in the summer, and Liverpool, you recall, dug in and refused, but the rumors that he could leave persisted from June until September 1st.

However, Edwards declined to provide a specific timeline for Salah’s alleged Anfield departure.

At Liverpool, he makes roughly £350,000 per week. This season, he has once again been amazing. One of the main reasons Liverpool, as we approach the halfway point, are my favorites to win the championship.

“I simply believe that the Saudi Pro League teams and the Saudi public investment fund will want Mo Salah to be their league’s poster child and they will keep coming and throwing a lot of money at that, so eventually Liverpool will have to make that decision, won’t they? A player who has already completed the last 18 months of his current contract and will be between 31 and 32 when it expires in 2025. Will they present him with a fresh offer? Very likely, given that his performances support it, but I don’t think the Saudi league will disappear.

Salah joining the Saudi Pro League is most likely going to happen. It would be surprising to see him depart even within the next 12 months, though, given the rumors of a new contract and his current situation.

All of the talk surrounding him right now is conjecture. What Liverpool’s actual goals are will only become clear with time. However, it would seem a little premature of Liverpool to let him go in the upcoming half-year.
