John Terry should be brought in by Chelsea in order to drastically overhaul Mauricio Pochettino’s backroom staff.
This season, Chelsea has been frequently criticized for lacking leadership, especially in light of the club’s recent dramatic transformation and emphasis on youth since Todd Boehly and company took over at Stamford Bridge. In Reece James and Ben Chilwell’s absence, Conor Gallagher has taken on the captain’s armband, but O’Hara thinks Terry should be allowed back and given more freedom with the team.
O’Hara told Grosvenor Sport, “The first thing they should do is phone John Terry and get him in that dressing room and allow him to get hold of some of those players.” “They need to be reminded of what it means to play for Chelsea Football Club because their standards have deteriorated to such an extent.
When I was a player, I recall facing players like Terry, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack, and Didier Drogba when I played against Chelsea. They were devout men who desired to show up and accomplish their goals.

The manager’s most recent transfer update indicates that plans are in motion: “Of course we are talking.”
Every inquiry Mauricio Pochettino receives regarding transfers in general is met with resistance. He can always assert (quite correctly) that he doesn’t want to get into specifics and that it’s outside of his purview.
He cannot, however, dispute his role or his interest in strengthening his team. Why wouldn’t he be?
His statements from today gave some insight into the inner workings of the organization and were the closest to acknowledging that he is actively pursuing goals for January:
“With the club, of course. The reason I refer to it as “the club” is that Behdad, Todd, Jose, Laurence, Paul, and of course me and Jesus are the owners. Each of us is having a conversation. The partnership is strong. We’re going to act in the club’s best interests and make an effort to perform well and win games.
“We need to take care of the team and stay in contact with the players and staff. At times, we discuss how the team is new, but the club is new as well, with new sections. We must plan, organize, and develop a method for working and performing. I don’t always mention that, but it’s wise to put everything in context. Naturally, we are having a conversation and will determine what is best for us.
The last sentence gives the impression that something is happening and that the sporting directors and the coach have communicated to them what they need and want in order to try and make things better.
Another question is whether they are being heard.
