“Shocking Attack: Euro 2024 Star Lamine Yamal’s Father Hospitalized After Brutal Car Park Stabbing”

Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal is in the spotlight for reasons beyond football, as his father, Mounir Nasraoui, has been hospitalized after a shocking stabbing incident. Reports from Spain indicate that Nasraoui was attacked in a car park in Mataró, Catalonia. According to La Vanguardia, Nasraoui’s condition was initially serious, but Relevo has since confirmed that he is out of danger and recovering at home.

The Catalonia police, Mossos d’Esquadra, along with Mataró’s municipal officers, are actively investigating the incident. While details are still emerging, three individuals have been arrested, and authorities are searching for a fourth suspect involved in the attack.

Nasraoui, 35, was recently seen celebrating his son’s remarkable achievement as Lamine Yamal became the youngest player to debut and score in a European Championship. Yamal played a crucial role in Spain’s Euro 2024 campaign, including a pivotal goal against France, helping Spain to eventually win the tournament by defeating England in the final.

Hailing from the Rocafonda neighborhood in Mataró, Nasraoui, who moved to Spain from Morocco at the age of nine, always had faith in his son’s potential. He expressed earlier this year, “I knew from the moment he was born that he was destined to be a star. As a father, you always want the best for your child, not just in football but in every aspect of life.”

Nasraoui’s profile has been controversial; he was previously fined €546 and ordered to compensate a Vox party supporter after attacking a party tent in 2023. Nasraoui justified his actions by stating, “I had my reasons. As a human being, I felt compelled to act against a political group that came to our neighborhood and stood next to a school with diverse races.”

Lamine Yamal made history at just 16 years and 50 days old with his debut and first goal for Spain under Luis de la Fuente during Euro 2024 qualifiers against Georgia, surpassing records previously held by his Barcelona teammate, Gavi.
