Barcelona’s rising star, Lamine Yamal, has shared his dream of one day playing alongside Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne. The Belgian midfielder, now 33, is approaching the end of his contract at City, where he’s won six Premier League titles since joining in 2015.
There were rumors this summer that De Bruyne might make a move to the Saudi Pro League, especially as his contract entered its final year. However, after City’s 3-1 victory over West Ham, De Bruyne addressed the speculation, saying, “I haven’t spoken to anyone, to be honest. There has been a lot of noise… but I was on holiday for four weeks, came back and started training. That was it.”
Though he hasn’t begun contract negotiations with City, De Bruyne expects to talk with the club soon, adding, “I’m sure there will be conversations as the season progresses. I just want to feel good, play good football… there’s no rush.”
With his future still uncertain, it’s no surprise Yamal has expressed admiration for De Bruyne, hoping for the chance to share the pitch with him.
In other news, City is reportedly eyeing Sunderland’s 17-year-old talent, Chris Rigg, with Liverpool and Chelsea also interested in the young midfielder. Rigg has already made 30 appearances for Sunderland, who are performing well in the Championship this season.
