Manchester City are set to take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday, but they’ve been hit with a significant injury concern.
Kevin De Bruyne limped off during City’s Champions League match against Inter Milan, just four days before their crucial Premier League clash with Arsenal.
The incident occurred when De Bruyne charged into the box right before halftime, attempting a cross that was blocked by Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer. While Sommer managed to stop the ball, he also collided with De Bruyne. The Belgian midfielder initially tried to shake off the knock but soon dropped to the ground, requiring medical attention. Though he briefly returned to the field, he didn’t come back after halftime.
City will now evaluate De Bruyne’s condition ahead of the pivotal match against Arsenal. The Gunners are also dealing with an injury blow, as they confirmed on Wednesday that midfielder Martin Odegaard will be sidelined for a few weeks.
