Some Chelsea staff reportedly believe that 21-year-old Harvey Vale deserves a spot in Enzo Maresca’s first-team plans.
With Chelsea’s squad depth and a large pool of players both on loan and in their academy, the club has relied on rotating between a first-choice team and a second-string squad for domestic cups and the Europa Conference League. Academy players like Josh Acheampong and Tyrique George have already earned spots in these squads, making strides towards first-team opportunities.
However, not all promising players have been given the same shot. Harvey Vale, a 21-year-old who spent last season on loan at Bristol Rovers, is one such player. Despite a solid loan spell, Vale hasn’t featured under Maresca this season, raising eyebrows among some Chelsea academy staff. According to reports from The Daily Mail, some believe Vale should have remained closer to the first-team setup, especially after a summer transfer fell through.
Highly regarded throughout his development, Vale has impressed within the Chelsea ranks, offering versatility as he can play anywhere along the left flank or in central attacking and midfield roles. Despite his potential, it seems he hasn’t yet caught Maresca’s eye.
Without first-team opportunities, Vale’s future at Chelsea appears uncertain, and his time with the club may be nearing its end.
