FIFA Reveals Key Details for 2025 Club World Cup Draw in the U.S.
FIFA has officially confirmed the details for the draw of the 2025 Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States next summer. This tournament marks the launch of FIFA’s newly expanded, 32-team format, intended to elevate the previously smaller Club World Cup into a global showcase.
The expanded tournament will allow more clubs from around the world to compete in a broader, more competitive format. Unlike the previous seven-team knockout structure, typically dominated by UEFA Champions League winners (last won by Manchester City in 2023), this new format aims to bring together a diverse mix of teams for a truly international event.
As excitement builds for the 2025 Club World Cup, FIFA has announced that the draw will occur on Thursday, December 5, 2024, in Miami. The event will start at 1:00 p.m. local time (7:00 p.m. CET) and will be broadcast worldwide on FIFA.com, FIFA+, and other platforms.
By the time of the draw, all 32 participating clubs will be confirmed. This includes the winner of the all-Brazilian CONMEBOL Libertadores final between Clube Atlético Mineiro and Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas, scheduled for November 30, 2024 in Buenos Aires.
FIFA has also unveiled the tournament’s 12 host venues, with the final to be held at the iconic MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey on Sunday, July 13, 2025. The full list of stadiums includes:
- Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta)
