John Stones Injury Piles Misery on Pep Guardiola as Man City’s Crisis Deepens

Pep Guardiola Admits Multiple Problems After Man City’s Shocking 4-0 Defeat to Tottenham

Manchester City’s struggles continue as they suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Tottenham, marking their fifth consecutive loss in all competitions. The defeat, their worst ever at the Etihad, leaves Pep Guardiola with more questions than answers about a squad that has previously defied the odds.

Pep Guardiola acknowledged that while injuries, like John Stones being forced off after just 45 minutes, have had an impact, the team’s poor form cannot be blamed on any single factor. Guardiola pointed out that Tottenham’s performance deserved credit, but it was clear that City’s weaknesses were more pronounced than usual.

“They are angry because of the way they played, but sometimes the opponent is good and sometimes you are not good enough in certain departments,” Guardiola explained. “The fragility is that we have little situations that we are not strong enough due to the injuries that we had.”

Guardiola admitted that City, a team historically known for their defensive solidity, have become increasingly vulnerable. “We were always a team who conceded few chances, but now we concede more and it’s for many reasons,” he said. “I’d like there to just be one reason, but there are many reasons for the season.”

Despite the team’s current woes, Guardiola remains focused on turning things around. “When the players come back better and better we will do it,” he said. “The best way to go through this situation is to accept the reality. It’s not about you, me, the weather, or the grass – we have to start winning games.”
