Briggs Danner Set for Full USAC National Sprint Car Championship Run in 2025 with Hogue Racing
Rising star Briggs Danner is ready to take the next step in his racing career as he gears up for the full 2025 USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship schedule with Hogue Racing Enterprises and their iconic No. 39 car.
The Pennsylvania native has been nothing short of dominant on the USAC Rapid Tire East Coast Sprint Car scene, where he claimed back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023, racking up a series-record 29 feature wins. However, Danner’s taste of the national stage over the last few years has proven he’s ready for bigger challenges. In 2024, he secured his first three career USAC National Sprint Car victories, officially stamping his name among the series’ rising contenders.
Reflecting on this new opportunity, Danner expressed confidence that now is the perfect time to make a full-season push with Tim and Fran Hogue’s team.
“We have the opportunity to do it, and Tim and Fran are really interested in making it happen,” Danner explained. “Right now is the perfect time. We’ve been showing speed, and the whole sprint car program is coming together. I feel like we’re still learning, so we’re only going to get better.”
Danner’s breakout season included historic victories and near-misses. In June, he made headlines when he became the first Pennsylvanian to win a USAC National Sprint Car feature since 1999 by claiming victory at Grandview. He followed it up with wins at the Indiana Sprint Week finale in August at Bloomington and the inaugural Greg Staab Memorial at Lawrenceburg in October.
Despite running only 29 of 44 series features in 2024, Danner ranked inside the top 10 in critical categories: 113 laps led, 11 top-five finishes, and 19 top-10 finishes. His stellar year earned him the USAC National Most Improved Driver Award.
Danner candidly reflected on the importance of his first national win at Grandview:
“To get that first one out of the way, and for it to be at Grandview on the first night of Eastern Storm, was awesome,” Danner said. “They always say the first one is the hardest one to get. This past year boosted my confidence a lot. We’ve always showed speed, but now we’re so much more consistent. When you’re fast all the time, it makes it a lot easier to pick off races.”
Danner and Hogue Racing first joined forces at the start of 2023. The Hogues, veteran racers from Westampton, New Jersey, have steadily built a competitive team capable of contending at the national level. Danner credits the team’s progress to their growing understanding of each other.
“We’ve definitely learned a lot,” Danner admitted. “There were nights where we were really good, and then there were some nights we weren’t as good. We learned together, and nine times out of 10, we’re on the same page now. I’m looking forward to even more racing and continuing to build on that.”
Briggs Danner’s racing roots run deep. The 23-year-old, born on the unforgettable day of September 11, 2001, comes from a family of racers. His father, Roy Danner Jr., raced quarter midgets, karts, and legend cars, while his grandfather, Roy Danner Sr., competed in stock cars at Pennsylvania tracks like Nazareth and Dorney Park.
Danner began racing at just five years old in quarter midgets, winning three USAC .25 Midget titles between 2013 and 2014. His versatility behind the wheel has been impressive, with wins across a variety of divisions, including 600cc Micro Sprints, Modifieds, ARD4C Midgets, and both 360 and 410 Sprint Cars.
Looking ahead to 2025, Danner will not only chase a USAC National Sprint Car title but also return to the DMW Motorsports No. 10 for the USAC Silver Crown dirt events. Additionally, he plans to make select appearances in the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship.
For Danner and the Hogues, 2025 promises to be a season to watch. With momentum, confidence, and a strong team behind him, Briggs Danner has his sights set on becoming a force in the USAC National Sprint Car Championship. “You don’t get better by sitting on the couch,” Danner concluded, and he certainly isn’t planning to slow down anytime soon.
