Live Feed: High Limit Racing’s Promising Start and Ambitious Futures

The sprint car racing scene is buzzing with the success of High Limit Racing, the upstart series co-founded by NASCAR star Kyle Larson and sprint car champion Brad Sweet. After a strong debut season in 2024, the series is already eyeing its future and its potential relationship with the established World of Outlaws.

Merger Talks on the Horizon

Speaking about the possibility of a merger, Kyle Larson revealed that while nothing is immediate, the topic has been discussed. “That’s at least a topic we’ve talked about,” Larson said. “Hopefully, whatever happens, will be for the betterment of the sport.”

The goal, according to Larson and Sweet, isn’t to replace the World of Outlaws but to complement it by expanding the reach and appeal of sprint car racing.

A Successful Debut Season

High Limit Racing, launched in 2024 with support from FloSports and backed by title sponsor Kubota, quickly made its mark on the sport. Its unique approach—featuring top-tier racing across various regions—set it apart. The series gained traction with impressive viewership, drawing an average of 100,000 viewers per event and accumulating 2.5 million total viewers for the season on FloRacing.

Notably, two High Limit races ranked among FloRacing’s Top 10 most-watched events of 2024, showcasing the series’ growing popularity. Brad Sweet, who not only co-founded the series but also claimed the championship title, highlighted its coexistence with other leagues: “This year showed you could have two different leagues competing without oversaturating markets.”

Innovations and Expansions

High Limit Racing introduced several innovations aimed at professionalizing sprint car racing, including earlier event end times and a potential charter system for teams. The momentum continues into 2025, with an ambitious 61-race schedule across 36 U.S. tracks and its first international event in Australia.

Larson stressed the importance of the series’ quality and fan engagement: “Fans could see how passionate we were, how great our shows ran, and how exciting our racing was—and those are the biggest elements to pleasing people.”

Building the Future

As High Limit Racing looks ahead, the possibility of collaboration with the World of Outlaws signals a potential shift in the sprint car racing landscape. For now, Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet are focused on building on their debut season’s success and continuing to elevate the sport for drivers, teams, and fans alike.

With its commitment to innovation and growth, High Limit Racing is well on its way to becoming a major player in the world of sprint car racing.
