Joey Logano: The Prankster Champion With a Heart of Gold
The NASCAR world may have a love-hate relationship with Joey Logano, but there’s no denying the multifaceted nature of this three-time Cup Series champion. Known for his competitive edge and bold statements like “stepping on competitors’ throats,” Logano is just as impactful off the track. Recently, he grabbed headlines for donating two Ford vehicles—a Bronco and an Escape, valued at $60,000—to victims of Hurricane Helene. Now, Logano continues to showcase his gratitude and humor by celebrating with the people who made his latest championship possible.
Joey and Brittany Logano Bring the Trophy to Ford
Logano and his wife, Brittany Baca, recently visited Ford’s headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, to celebrate with employees who played a crucial role in his 2024 championship season. As part of their visit, the couple brought along the coveted championship trophy and even got behind the wheel of the new Ford GTD, which Logano described as “awesome and fun.”
But the highlight of the visit wasn’t just the trophy or the test drive—it was a hilarious undercover prank orchestrated by Ford.
On SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Logano teased the prank, saying, “I can’t share it with you yet because Ford will get really upset if I share it too soon, but it’s hilarious.” He revealed that he and Brittany went undercover as third-generation chicken farmers from Arkansas, disguised to fool a car salesman. “We just moved to North Carolina and needed a vehicle,” Logano said, adding, “It was priceless. The salesman, Joe, thought he was getting fired. We scared the hell out of him—it was great!”
Logano also praised his wife’s acting skills, joking that her convincing performance made him a bit nervous.
Practical Jokes Are a Logano Staple
This isn’t the first time Joey Logano has showcased his love for pranks. Back in 2018, during an interview with FOX Sports’ Kaitlyn Vincie, he orchestrated a fake spider prank that left Vincie screaming in surprise. The incident became a memorable moment in NASCAR circles, reflecting the lighter side of a driver often seen as serious on the track.
Giving Back Through the Joey Logano Foundation
While Logano’s humor stands out, his charitable work leaves an even greater impact. Through the Joey Logano Foundation, he has supported numerous organizations focused on helping children and young adults rebuild their lives, especially those affected by abuse and trauma. To date, the foundation has invested over $6 million, positively affecting more than 250,000 young people.
Most recently, Logano and Brittany joined a Christmas charity event, distributing presents to children in need. The foundation also played a significant role in hurricane relief efforts, partnering with Ford to donate vehicles to Hurricane Helene victims.
The NASCAR Community Stands Together
Logano wasn’t alone in supporting those affected by Hurricane Helene. Organizations like Hendrick Automotive Group, Hendrick Motorsports, Sonic Automotive, and Speedway Motorsports collaborated to send over 400 pallets of donated items to affected communities in western North Carolina.
“The impact of Hurricane Helene has been catastrophic,” stated leaders from these organizations. “Our neighbors in hard-hit areas face immense challenges in rebuilding their homes, communities, and lives, and we will stand alongside them.”
Additionally, Team Penske, Shell USA, and the Joey Logano Foundation launched the Partners Powering Hurricane Recovery Program, matching donations up to $100,000. Funds were directed to charities like Crossnore Communities for Children and the Children’s Hope Alliance to provide aid to impacted areas.
More Than Just a Racer
From his on-track dominance to his off-track generosity, Joey Logano continues to prove he’s more than just a NASCAR champion. Whether it’s pulling pranks, donating to disaster relief, or mentoring young talent, Logano’s legacy extends far beyond the racetrack. As he gears up for the 2025 season, fans can look forward to more of Logano’s unique blend of competitiveness, humor, and philanthropy.
