Live Update: South Carolina State Bulldogs Reveal 2025 Football Schedule

The South Carolina State Bulldogs have officially announced their 2025 football schedule, featuring five home games and 12 contests overall. Fans can look forward to an exciting season as the Bulldogs aim to build on their 2024 MEAC Championship campaign under head coach Chennis Berry.

Season Kickoff and Non-Conference Matchups

The Bulldogs open their season on Saturday, Aug. 30, hosting the Wofford Terriers at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium in Orangeburg, S.C. The following week, they hit the road to face the South Carolina Gamecocks on Sept. 6 in a high-profile in-state matchup.

South Carolina State returns home on Sept. 13 to host the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, a newly announced contest. Afterward, the Bulldogs embark on back-to-back road trips, taking on the South Florida Bulls on Sept. 20 and the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on Sept. 27, another previously unreported game.

Homecoming and Final Non-Conference Clash

Homecoming festivities will take place on Saturday, Oct. 4, when the Bulldogs welcome the Savannah State Tigers to Orangeburg for the annual celebration. The final non-conference matchup follows on Oct. 11, with South Carolina State traveling to face the North Carolina A&T Aggies.

Conference Play Begins

After an open date on Oct. 18, the Bulldogs dive into MEAC action with a road game against Norfolk State on Oct. 25, now led by new head coach Michael Vick. South Carolina State will also visit North Carolina Central on Nov. 15 and Delaware State on Nov. 22 for their remaining conference road games.

The Bulldogs’ home conference schedule includes matchups against Morgan State on Nov. 1 and Howard on Nov. 8, rounding out the regular season.

Looking Back on 2024

In their inaugural season under head coach Chennis Berry, the Bulldogs posted an impressive 9-3 overall record, including an undefeated 5-0 MEAC mark to claim the conference title. However, their season ended with a tough 28-7 loss to Jackson State in the Cricket Celebration Bowl.
