Live Feed: NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series 2025 Season Preview

As the 31st season of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series approaches, fans are buzzing with excitement and anticipation. With Daytona Day just weeks away, the updates are rolling in, promising a thrilling year for racing enthusiasts. The season will see a blend of seasoned drivers and rising stars, with Ty Majeski, the reigning 2024 Truck Series champion, taking center stage.

An Expanded Schedule and Key Contenders

For the first time since 2021, the 2025 season will feature 25 races, including 22 ovals and 3 road courses. The action kicks off at Daytona International Speedway on February 14th and concludes at Phoenix Raceway on October 31st.

The battle for the Rookie of the Year (ROTY) title will see Frankie Muniz, Toni Breidinger, Rio Guggiero, and Christian Rose competing fiercely. Joining them are 19 full-time drivers, including prominent names like Corey Heim, Chandler Smith, Daniel Hemric, Rajah Caruth, and Tanner Gray.

A post on X by NASCAR highlighted the current season lineup:
“2025 @NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Silly Season Tracker as of 12/29
– 19 full-time teams announced
– 4 ROTY contenders (Breidinger, Guggiero, Muniz, Rose)

PT notes:
– Benning announced running at Daytona. I’d expect him to run at Pocono (home track) and Talladega.
– FDNY announced 3 races with Dauzat (Daytona, Pocono & Talladega) with the addition of Lime Rock with a funded driver. Team also wants to run Charlotte, Nashville, and Rockingham if there’s funding.”

Confirmed team entries include heavyweights like TRICON Garage, Front Row Motorsports, Niece Motorsports, Spire Motorsports, and McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, ensuring a competitive field for the season.

Revamped Practice and Qualifying Formats

NASCAR has announced changes to the practice and qualifying formats for 2025. Pre-qualifying practice sessions will now last 25 minutes, giving teams more preparation time. While oval races will retain the two-group practice format, qualifying will no longer follow this structure.

For road courses, a new system is being introduced:

  • 50-minute practice sessions for all cars.
  • Two 20-minute qualifying sessions split into groups.

These updates aim to enhance preparation while delivering more engaging race weekends for fans.

NASCAR YouTuber Predicts a Star-Studded 2025

Popular NASCAR YouTuber Daniel Kriete has shared his predictions for the season, spotlighting drivers to watch. Among his top picks are Corey Heim, Chandler Smith, and Ty Majeski.

On Heim, Kriete said:
“Going into 2025, he’s one of the favorites, if not the favorite, to win the Truck Series title. I think he’s gonna be really strong throughout 2025. I think he’s gonna win quite a few races this year.”

He also praised Smith, who drives for Front Row Motorsports, and highlighted Majeski’s dominant run with ThorSport Racing in 2024. Speaking about Daniel Hemric, Kriete added:
“Daniel Hemric is one of the favorites to win the title this year. I don’t know if he’s like the favorite like Corey Heim, but I think he’s got a really good chance and opportunity to win the championship this year.”
