Texas Longhorns Shake Up Coaching Staff with Key Addition!

Texas Longhorns Make Key Coaching Move After Strong SEC Debut

The Texas Longhorns are coming off a statement season in their first year in the SEC, finishing with an impressive 13-3 record and a 7-1 mark in conference play. Their journey included an SEC Championship Game appearance against the Georgia Bulldogs, where they fell short, followed by a deep College Football Playoff run that ended in the semifinals against eventual national champion Ohio State.

As the offseason kicks off, Texas has made a notable addition to its coaching staff, hiring Jason McEndoo in an undisclosed role. According to Eric Nahlin of Inside Texas, McEndoo is expected to work alongside tight ends coach Jeff Banks in some capacity.

McEndoo brings a wealth of experience to the Longhorns. He spent nearly a decade with Oklahoma State as the tight ends and fullbacks coach under Mike Gundy from 2015 to 2024. Before that, he developed a strong reputation as Montana State’s offensive line coach from 2003 to 2014.

Beyond coaching, McEndoo has firsthand experience as a player. He was a standout center at Washington State (1995-1998) before spending time in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints (1998-2000).

While the specifics of his role with Texas remain unclear, adding a coach with McEndoo’s experience and pedigree could be a valuable move as the Longhorns look to build on their SEC success and chase a national title in 2025.
