Former Kentucky Wildcat Darian Kinnard makes NFL history with third straight Super Bowl win

Darrian Kinnard Makes NFL History with Third Consecutive Super Bowl Victory

History was written under the bright lights of Super Bowl LIX as Darrian Kinnard became just the second player in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls. The Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman secured his place in football lore as the Eagles dominated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, crushing Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce’s hopes of a historic three-peat.

While most eyes were on Mahomes and the Chiefs’ dynasty bid, Kinnard quietly made history. Originally drafted by Kansas City in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, he spent his first two seasons with the team, earning back-to-back Super Bowl rings despite primarily being on the practice squad. But the offseason brought a twist—Kinnard signed with Philadelphia, setting up a dramatic showdown against his former team in Super Bowl LIX.

With the Eagles’ victory, Kinnard joined Ken Norton Jr. as the only players to win three consecutive Super Bowls—Norton accomplished the feat with the Dallas Cowboys (1992, 1993) and San Francisco 49ers (1994).

Beyond his place in NFL history, Kinnard is now officially the most decorated Kentucky player in Super Bowl history. He surpasses Mike Edwards (Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 2021; Chiefs, 2024) and Larry Seiple (Miami Dolphins, 1973, 1974), who each have two rings.

Though Kinnard played just three games for the Eagles this season, his impact on the roster was undeniable. And now, he stands among football’s elite—a three-time Super Bowl champion in just three NFL seasons.
