NC State Locks in Official Visit with Highly-Touted DL Brian Harris
NC State football is set to host Brian Harris, a standout defensive lineman from Mandarin High School (Fla.), for an official visit on June 13. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound junior, currently committed to Maryland, is still weighing his options and has lined up visits with Stanford (May 30), West Virginia (June 6), and South Carolina (June 20).
Harris, a composite three-star prospect, is ranked No. 722 overall, No. 63 among defensive linemen, and No. 97 in Florida, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. NC State extended an offer in late January, and the Wolfpack staff remains determined to sway him away from his current commitment.

Harris brings elite size and explosiveness, making him a versatile threat as either a defensive tackle or edge rusher. His list of suitors continues to grow, with Penn State recently entering the mix, joining Duke, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Stanford, and West Virginia in pursuit of the talented defender.
Last season, Harris was a dominant force for Mandarin, racking up 32 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, seven sacks, nine quarterback hurries, seven pass deflections, and three forced fumbles, helping his team to a 7-4 finish.
NC State, led by head coach Dave Doeren, currently boasts a four-deep 2026 recruiting class, ranking No. 42 nationally and No. 10 in the ACC, according to 247Sports. Landing Harris would be a major addition to an already promising pipeline for the Wolfpack.
Stay tuned as Harris’ recruitment heats up heading into the summer!
