Feagin Shines, Kitts Records Triple-Double as Gamecocks Dominate Ole Miss
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A dominant second half and the first Gamecocks triple-double since 2021 powered South Carolina to a commanding 75-59 road victory over Ole Miss on Thursday night.
Strong Start, Tight First Half
The Gamecocks opened the game with authority, jumping out to a 15-9 lead in the first quarter while controlling the boards with an 11-3 rebounding edge. Despite South Carolina’s dominance inside, Ole Miss refused to back down, keeping the game within reach. The Gamecocks led 19-14 heading into the second quarter.
Sania Feagin’s Career Night
Sania Feagin was a difference-maker, delivering a career-high 22 points to keep South Carolina in control during tough stretches.
She halted a 7-0 Ole Miss run with a crucial and-one, reclaiming the lead after the Rebels had briefly surged ahead. Feagin then followed up with a jumper, ensuring the Gamecocks remained in the fight as both teams exchanged blows.

Late in the second quarter, Ole Miss’ Kirsten Dean drained a big three-pointer to put the Rebels ahead by one. But Maddy McDaniel responded with a clutch and-one, giving the Gamecocks a 37-33 halftime lead.
Gamecocks Take Over in the Second Half
A +12 bench point differential had kept Ole Miss competitive in the first half, but the Gamecocks came out firing in the third quarter. Raven Johnson nailed a jumper to extend the lead to seven points, forcing Ole Miss into an early timeout.
Despite both teams struggling to score at times due to strong defensive play, the Gamecocks maintained control, heading into the fourth quarter with a 55-47 advantage.
Another dominant start to the final period saw South Carolina extend their lead to 61-49, while Ole Miss struggled to find any offensive rhythm.
Chloe Kitts Makes History
The highlight of the night came when Chloe Kitts dished an assist to Joyce Edwards, sealing her place in Gamecocks history. Kitts recorded 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, securing the program’s first triple-double since 2021—and just the ninth in South Carolina women’s basketball history.
Final Push Before SEC Tournament
With a dominant second-half performance and an unstoppable inside game, South Carolina closed out an impressive 75-59 win on the road.
The Gamecocks now turn their attention to Kentucky, their final regular-season matchup at Colonial Life Arena on Sunday, where they look to secure the #1 seed heading into SEC Tournament play.
