Glorious South Carolina Softball Super Star Sensation Clinches Another Coveted Weekly Accolade

South Carolina softball sensation Arianna Rodi has secured another weekly honor for her impressive performance stretch. NCAA.com analyst Michella Chester has named Rodi her first baseman of the week as part of her national starting lineup.

Chester praised Rodi‘s impact, stating,

“The Gamecocks have surged in the rankings, and Rodi has been on fire. Last week, she batted .615 with 12 RBI. She tallied a pair of doubles and four home runs with one homer per game. All three home runs she recorded against Duke gave South Carolina the lead in each game. That is some clutch hitting.”

In addition to these standout numbers, Rodi recorded at least three RBI in every game last week. Her big bat is a major reason why the Gamecocks remain undefeated and have vaulted into the top 10 of several key rankings.

This honor from NCAA.com follows Rodi’s earlier selection as the SEC co-Player of the Week.

Looking ahead, Rodi and the Gamecocks will face the Youngstown State Penguins in a mid-week contest in Columbia on Wednesday. The game won’t be on traditional television but will stream live on SEC Network+ at 6:00 p.m.

Next, South Carolina will travel to Norman, Oklahoma, to challenge the only other undefeated team in major college softball. The Oklahoma Sooners, four-time defending national champions, have lost just 15 games during their storied run. Coach Ashley Chastain Woodard and her squad will look to continue their magical run and affirm their place among the nation’s elite teams.

The schedule is set with Friday’s opener against OU at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday’s second game at 3:00 p.m., both streaming on SEC Network+. The Sunday finale will air on traditional television via SEC Network, with first pitch scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
