South Carolina softball SUPPER slugger with distinguish arms for BATTING is HONOURED as SEC Player of the Week.

South Carolina’s Arianna Rodi Named SEC Co-Player of the Week After Dominant Performance

Arianna Rodi has been on fire, and the SEC took notice. On Monday, the conference named the South Carolina softball star as the Co-Player of the Week, recognizing her stellar performances that propelled the Gamecocks to an undefeated week.

Rodi’s dominance at the plate was undeniable. In four road games—including a showdown against her former team, the Charlotte 49ers, and a tough series against the top-10 ranked Duke Blue Devils—she delivered 8 hits in 13 at-bats, launching four home runs, smacking two doubles, scoring six runs, and driving in 12 RBI. She also drew three walks and remarkably hit a home run with three RBI in every single game.

Thanks to Rodi’s heroics, South Carolina finished the week 4-0, climbing into the top 10 of major softball rankings. Now, after a midweek contest against Youngstown State, the Gamecocks are gearing up for their biggest test yet: a three-game weekend series against the Oklahoma Sooners, the nation’s only other undefeated team and the four-time reigning national champions.

Seamless Transition for Rodi

Rodi, who spent her first two collegiate seasons at Charlotte alongside Ashley Chastain Woodard, has quickly become a force in the Gamecocks’ lineup. Last season, she earned all-conference honors in the American, and if she maintains this level of play, she could be headed for SEC accolades in 2025.

Her season numbers are nothing short of elite:

  • Batting slash line: .429/.583/1.000/1.583
  • 8 home runs
  • 4 doubles
  • 21 walks
  • 26 RBI
  • 20 runs scored
  • Reached base in every game but one

Meanwhile, Gamecock pitcher Jori Heard also received recognition last week, earning the title of SEC Pitcher of the Week.
