South Carolina Commit Eli Ellis Clutches Overtime Elite Title with Buzzer-Beater Heroics!
Eli Ellis has once again delivered in spectacular fashion. On Friday night, the South Carolina basketball commit capped off a dominant performance in the Overtime Elite championship series by draining a buzzer-beater to seal game four and the series victory. Despite tough defense at the top of the key, Ellis proved unstoppable, securing his team’s place as OTE champions.
Ellis led the way for the YNG Dreamerz, a squad that also features fellow Gamecock commit Hayden Assemian and class of 2026 targets Isaac Ellis (his brother) and Kohl Rosario. His final stat line was nothing short of spectacular—32 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists, all while shooting better than 50% from the field and beyond the arc.
Throughout the four-game series, which the YNG Dreamerz won 3-1, Ellis was an offensive force, averaging over 35 points per game and maintaining elite efficiency from deep. His dominance earned him the championship series MVP title, a fitting conclusion to his time in Overtime Elite. As the league’s all-time leader in both scoring and assists, Ellis made it clear after the win that his OTE journey was “completed.”

Ranked No. 70 nationally by On3’s industry rankings, Ellis is considered one of the top shooting guards in the 2025 class, slotting in at No. 21 at his position and No. 4 overall in North Carolina. He and Assemian will join South Carolina’s 2025 class, which also features versatile forward EJ Walker and sharpshooter Grant Polk, as the Gamecocks continue building a strong future.
