“South Carolina Snags Elite Offensive Lineman in Major Recruiting Win!”

South Carolina Lands Priority OT Zyon Guiles, Strengthening In-State Pipeline

Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks have secured another key piece for their future offensive line, landing a commitment from Carvers Bay offensive tackle Zyon Guiles. The 6-foot-5, 290-pound standout chose South Carolina over Clemson, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee, continuing the Gamecocks’ success in keeping top in-state talent at home.

Being able to stay close to home is always great,” Guiles said earlier this year. “South Carolina is good at developing players. Coach Shane Beamer is a good guy. They tell me I’m one of the top priorities in the ’26 class, and that’s something I really love to hear.”

Guiles has built a strong connection with Beamer and the coaching staff, noting how much he appreciates the team’s family atmosphere. “They move as one. There aren’t different groups; they’re all one big family. They don’t exclude anybody,” he explained. His relationship with Beamer has been a major factor in his decision. “Me and Coach Beamer talk almost weekly. He calls me when I get home and asks me how everything is going. Just building our relationship.”

A Hemingway, S.C. native, Guiles has long been on South Carolina’s radar, attending camps, game-day visits, and multiple recruiting stops in Columbia. He has an official visit scheduled for June 6, further solidifying his commitment.

Gamecocks’ 2026 Class Grows Stronger

Guiles becomes South Carolina’s sixth commitment for the 2026 class and the fourth in-state recruit, reinforcing Beamer’s push to lock down top local talent. He’s also the second offensive lineman in the class, joining South Pointe’s Anthony Baxter (6-3, 335).

Here’s a look at South Carolina’s 2026 commits so far:

  • Anthony Baxter, OT, 6-3, 335 (South Pointe, S.C.)
  • Zyon Guiles, OT, 6-5, 290 (Carvers Bay, S.C.)
  • Keenan Britt, LB, 6-2, 230 (Oxford, Ala.)
  • Jamel Howse, TE, 6-4, 210 (Newberry, S.C.)
  • J’Zavien Currence, S, 6-3, 190 (South Pointe, S.C.)
  • Peyton Dyer, CB, 6-0, 190 (Duluth, Ga.)

With momentum building, Beamer and the Gamecocks are stacking talent early for the 2026 cycle, and Guiles’ addition is another step toward strengthening their trenches for the future.
